Very dark amber color. Lots of chocolate, bready, a caramelly touch, a bit of cherries. Malty, a bit unbalanced, but not as great as expected, but still not bad. A touch on the sour side. A touch of bread in the finish.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a light ruby-brown with a firm, off-white head. Pretty malty nose, some fruits. Very sweet flavor, plenty of caramel and deep maltiness. Medium in body with nice carbonation. Finishes sugary, a little sticky. A bit sweeter than the Oktoberfest brews I’m used to, and this is an OK thing.

Location: On tap at the Brewery, Linda Vista Location, 1/7/10

Overall Impression: This was a pretty solid Oktoberfest style beer. Not a huge variation off of what you would expect from the style, but solid, enjoyable, and well-made.

Sample at Breakwater Brewing in Oceanside. This beer is a dark brownish-amber color with a thin and creamy off-white head that recedes slowly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and fruit in the nose with a touch of anise. Medium body with a roasty character, and flavors of bready malt, hops and caramel. The finish is malty with a lingering mild hops aftertaste. Decent all around.

tap at brewery - Pours amber with a nice lingering head. It smells of sweet malt and has a light roasted, sweet malt flavor. It’s smooth and light to medium bodied with a little hops in the finish. Pretty good.
