Cloudy dark orange / light amber colored beer, doesn’t really look appealing to me. Smell and taste were decent though and the beer has nice carbo and a good firm body.

750 ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden body with a fine stable off-white head. Aroma is mild and spicy with grain, yeast and wood. Flavor has sweet malt, brown sugar, fruit, a hint of fruity acid and a spicy mild bitterness. Very typical Belgium and in balance.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a clear, golden beer with a nice, off-white head on top. Doesn’t carbonated much in the glass, but it’s lively in the bottle. It’s quite fruity on the nose, with a nice touch of cellar. Sugary fruityness and alcohol, banana, tropical fruits and some sweet yellow apples. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side, white sugar springs to mind. Banana and lemon too, with a spiced touch. Full-bodied and a bit low on carbonation. The finish is fruity and sweet. Overall, a bit on the sweet side, but I like it. Wouldn’t mind more of it. 101112

Bottle from Utobeer Market Stall. Cloudy dark orange pour with a white head which doesn’t stick around for long. Nuts, ginger, sweet spices, caramel and tangerine aromas. Picked up a bit of citrus in the flavour with a hint of toffee, cloves and cinnamon. Dry, spicy action with some bitterness. Not too bad.

Bottle at De Hopduvel . Pours dark amber with a fluffy white head. Aromas of caramel and darker pitted fruits. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is caramel with cooked fruit and mildly spicey hop. Finishes slightly bitter. A richer version of the amber/Special.
