A full bodied & robust ale with a big hop finish. Our traditional bitter is brewed using 5 specialty malts & 3 varieties of hops. It has a reddish hue & a fruity character imported by our unique ale yeast from the UK. Its deep flavours are complimented by its intense hoppy nose. Try this ale with fine roasts, burgers and aged cheeses.

Brownish brown body browningly browning a semi-brown foam on top. Smells of brown malts. Tastes of brown grain with a hint of hops. A really weak effort at an ESB, but hey - at least it's brown.

On cask at Sailor Hagar's, pours an opaque dark orange amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out toasted English malt, some stone fruits, and candied notes. Flavour brings out similar notes, with stone fruits, English malts and a very astringent hoppy finish. Drinkable enough, but very rough and tastes haphazardly thrown together. Gets more repulsive the more you drink.

Hand-pump at Sailor Hagar’s
Hazy dark amber color; creamy head. The aroma is light, but there is a good caramel flavor, quite sweet, with respectable bitterness. Not fully British, but quite good.

Bottle. Hazy orange amber, lowish head. Fruity strawberry, honeyish and earthy minerally notes. Mellow, welllagererd mouthfeel. Bitter dry finish. Earthy hop aftertaste.

Funny how this is retired and I drank it last week. For admin's info it is now contract brewed by Howe Sound. pours a very dark amber color, creamy off white head. A huge citrusy nose erupts from the nose with hints of sweet apples and caramel. The body has great depth, juicy hops, apples, cinnamon, hints of caramel is run over the tongue very smoothly. Orangish bitter off dry finish. Superb!

Bright amber colour. Light bitterness, a fair dose of crystal malt chewiness, and light mango/papaya esters. Slightly sticky finish. As with the Narwhal, it is a subtlely complex ale with a distinct Howe Sound imprint. Good on them for using a fun yeast, too.
