Dominus Triple is a fruity abbey beer with a slightly spicy and complex flavour. Its aromas are young and fresh. The impression of fresh earth and the fragrance of spring brewing add to a wonderfully balanced bitterness. The first impression on the palate is one of structure, lengthiness and strength with well-balanced bitterness thanks to the hops used. Dominus Triple has a beautiful, bright colour reminiscent of old gold. The head is very rich and thick.

It goes well with pressed uncooked cheese and with desserts with brown sugar, or with grilled and fried meat.

Geel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig, koriander en licht zuur. Goede triple.

33 cl. bottle @ home procured from Delhaize. Pours an almost clear honey amber with a quickly fizzing away off-white head. Smells lightly metallic, plastic sweet, rainwater, boozy chemical esters, smell is rather weak. Taste is nasty herbal plastic honey, cheap boozy alcohol, esters, bitter flowers, nasty bitter herbal, rainwater, chemical, honey finish, way too overt cheap alcohol,… Carbonation is high. Soulless factory beer, cheap honey / alcohol, esters & booze + fake specialty beer. Unfortunate, almost seems to be a cousin of malt liquor in production ethics & intent.

John Martin product apparently still brewed at Koningshoeven and bottled on 75 cl. Off-white, loose, not very stable head, colour orange blonde, almost amber, misty. Aroma of peach, orange peel, pineapple, vanilla, flowery hops, ginger and cooked cabbage (DMS). Soft sweetish taste, hints of orange and raisins, medium carbonation, smooth and supple, caramel malts, bit of coriander, lightly hopped finish but not enough bitterness to balance the initial sweetness. A more or less correct tripel but too ’clean’ and cliché for my taste.

Nydelig duft av plomme og krydder. Fin gyllen litt dunkel farge. Tynt lag skum, nesten ingenting. Fin fruktig smak av plomme med en krydret frisk fin ettersmak.

25cl on tap. Dark yellow to light amber color, clear, big white head, persistent. Aroma was mostly apple with almond and a syrupy thing, pretty harsh. Carbonated and dry, medium bodied, alcoholic finish. Didn’t like much.

Bottle, 8%. Asparagus aroma, hint of marzipan and paint thinner. Not as bad as it sounds. Clear dark golden colour. OK stable frothy white head. Mild yeast flavour, OK rough alcohol bitterness. The mouthfeel is a little thin.

Bottle. Pours clear, slightly oily golden with small, bubbly off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit, flowers, and hops. Sweetish, fruity flavour, with citric, hoppy, and caramellish notes and touches of flowers. Discernible, warming alcohol presence. Bittersweet aftertaste. Good.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear rusty orange to amber color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, a bit sweetish, some sugar. Hmm too sweet I think. Fizzy carbonation as well which doesn’t really help. Hmm, disappointing.
