12 ounce bottle thanks to Barlow. Pours a clear copper color with a large white head. A light grainy and yeasty nose with some light fruit. The flavor is similar: not a big hop flavor, dry, lemons, grainy, light esters. Decent. Tasty.

Crisp clear orange and bronze coloured body with a two centimetre tall relatively fluffy tan head. Aroma of pale malt, pungent hops, a strong belgian yeast strain and a bit of light fruit and some sugars. Medium-bodied; Assertive earthy and floral malt flavours up front with some sour yeast notes, a hint of oak and herbal hops and a little caramel sweetness at the end. Aftertaste is relatively light with only some of the malt and alcohol flavours coming through and quite a bit of herbal and woodsy notes. Overall, a decent beer with some interesting flavours, but not enough hops nor body to show too well. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 02-May-2013 for US$2.49 sampled at home in Washington on 03-June-2013 a few days before leaving back for Southern California.

Dark plum orange, minimal head. Earthy nose with some pine cones. Taste is earthy, rustic and not too bitter. Great balance but perhaps too much oak.

Bottle. Pours with a clear gold and a white head. Clingy retention and lace. Big hop aromas of grass, citrus, zest and dankness, medium esters, low malt, lightly toasty, lactone oak. Flavors are dry, grassy, some soggy malt character, orange zest, dank hops, grainy, low esters. Medium bitter. Fuller carb, lots of grass. Dry.

Bottle from Ledgers. Pours clear orange amber with a transient beige head. Aroma is pleasantly citrus & fruit. Near med body. Somewhat roasty backbone, but nicely citrus hopped. Hints of oak.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium white head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, herbs, oranges. Flavor is quite herbal, light plus sweet with orange notes present but not dominant. Quite bitter, with a mix of hoppy and zesty notes. Not getting much wood, but there is certainly a complexity to the flavor beyond that of your typical APA. Finish is zesty bitter, lingering well into the far finish. Body is medium, some creaminess in the mouth. Points for originality here for sure. This is the best thing I have yet tried from Almanac.
