Can from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma is strong whisky with caramel, syrup, molasses, dried fruits, chocolate, roast, some more dried fruits. Sticky and sweet with a full body. Bit boozy, nice sweet syrupy whisky barrel aging. Rich.

Canned. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, roast, vanilla, wood and some toffee. Flavour is vanilla, roast, fudge and coffee with some alcohol as well. Very smooth and nice sipper.

Black, small tan head. Smell is sweet, pretty fudget somehow, some whisky. Body is decent, bit sharp, but not thin. Taste is fudge first, followed by something strangely bitter, and then a big dose of whisky. Licorice? Some CFS got accidented into it?

Une base réussie sur une dominante chocolat/ caramel dense et pleine (bien aidée en cela par le Sorachi Ace) avec un alcool à 10,4% bien intégré et vif permettant de contrebalancer une certaine douceur, couplée à un vieillissement réussi (Cameron Bridge 1993 Whisky) avec des arômes de whisky et de fût enrichissant la palette aromatique sans l'écraser : vous avez les ingrédients d'un Imperial Porter réussi et très plaisant. Il manque peut-être une once de profondeur et complexité aromatique pour être au top. En verre nous sommes sur une robe noire (EBC de 88) avec une mousse brune nappant tout juste la surface. Joli nez sur une dominante chocolat, caramel, vanille et whisky. Bonne nervosité de l'alcool sur l'attaque avec de légères épices provenant du Fuggles enrichissant la proposition aromatique avec une amertume donnant un peu de fraîcheur avant de baisser en seconde bouche (amertume limitée avec en outre 45 d'EBU). Heureusement l'alcool chaleureux et quelque peu funky permet alors de contrebalancer la douceur de la base. L’arrière-bouche est davantage sur le chocolat et le caramel tout comme le final, plus doux, qui aurait mérité un peu plus de vivacité. Imperial Porter très plaisant.

Canned, 330 ml. Shared with Max, Miro B and kajser27. Dark brown with medium beige head. Caramel, chocolate, whisky, some dried fruit notes, bit of nuts, medium sweetness, some bitterness in finish. Medium bodied.

Taster at home, courtesy of Sander, big thanks. Black color, almost no head. Smells whisky, fudgy, marzipan, cinnamon, vanilla, bitter chocolate, sweet spices, very nice smell. Full body, light carbonation. Tastes of cinnamon, vanilla, bit boozy, fudgy, chocolate, light dried fruits, some raisins and figs, marzipan, subtle whisky. Finishes super balanced with a touch of booze and notes of sweet spices, figs and some bitter chocolate/vanilla. Very nice one, good to drink, bit boozy and bit heavy on the vanilla but overall very enjoyable 8,4,7, 3,16

Opaque colour, small beige head. Aroma has bourbon, vanilla and wood. Full-bodied. Soft with vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, lots of wood. Thinner in the finish. Interesting.
