The flavors of Rocky Road are a long-standing testament to the perseverance of the human spirit. This American Strong Ale was aged in Bourbon Barrels before journeying through hundreds of pounds of toasted almonds, rich cacao nibs, and marshmallowy Madagascar vanilla.

Gotta have BL. Reddish brown, thick. Smells boozy, sweet, with plenty of chocolate and almond flour. Soft mouthfeel, warmingly boozy. Tastes sweet, plenty of caramel, chocolate, and a good dose of bourbon. Nicely soft, lovely flavours.

Bottle at tasting. Aroma of raisin, figs, rich fruity bourbon, vanilla, dates, caramel fudge and molasses. Taste has rich smooth fruity bourbon, raisin, caramel fudge, coconut, vanilla, figs, dates, raisin, molasses and a really long complex rich finish. Fantastic.

murky brown pour with a thin beige head. Notes of toffee, bourbon, dried fruit, vanilla, mouldy barrel, wood, almonds. Very barrel-forward, but right up my alley, with very funky/mouldy barrel notes. Awesome stuff

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark copper with a slight, transient tan head. Aroma is bourbon/vanilla/hint of chocolate. Med + body. Flavor is the aroma. Excellent flavor. Really nice ale.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with lots of caramel and toffee. Light almond and cacao notes. Hints of alcohol spice and oak. Pours fairly clear with some brown with auburn and amber hues and a medium sized, thick, light tan head that recedes quickly and disappears. No lacing and moderate sized legs. Flavor is malt forward with lots of caramel, toasted bread and toffee. Light cacao and almond notes. Light alcohol and faint oak. Moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, an interesting beer. Nice strong ale notes and I like that the adjuncts aren't super strong, but they are present.
