Ever met a New Belgium Beer Ranger? They are our beloved folks out in the field. Spanning all 29 of our states from the Pacific to the Atlantic, our Beer Rangers do their best to protect, to pour and to partake. And explore many a beer from many a brewery, they do.

Bring out the hops! This clear amber beauty bursts at the starting gate with an abundance of hops: Cascade (citrus), Chinook (floral/citrus), and Simcoe (fruity) lead off the beer, with Cascade added again for an intense dry hop flavor. Brewed with pale and dark caramel malts that harmonize the hop flavor from start to finish, Ranger is a sessionable splendor for all you hopinistas. Thank your Beer Ranger!

Pours a clear yellow with relatively thin head. Some grassiness in the aroma and in the flavor, along with the usual citrus and pine flavors. Has a very dry finish that complements the whole package quite well. One of the better IPAs out there.

Medium beige head. Amber body with light carbonation. Strawy mango and marzipan aroma with earthy notes. Dry-sweet mango and paper taste with resiny grape notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Dry resiny grape aftertaste with earthy roasty papery notes. Nice, but a bit papery. (0.355l bottle, from some liquor store in San Francisco.)

Location: 12 oz bottle at The Pantry, 6/7/11

Aroma: The nose is fairly clean and hoppy, pine, citrus, some floral notes, and grains
Appearance: The pour is golden-orange with a decent white head atop it
Flavor: The taste is fairly hoppy, some dry malt character, grains, and a mid bitter finish
Palate: The body is rather clean, light-medium, with a smoothish mouthfeel and a fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: I was fairly impressed by this one. I wasn't particularly excited for it, but at a random restaurant in Little Rock there isn't much of a selection, so I went for this one, and I'm glad I did. A fairly quality IPA with a good drinkability, it should be of no surprise that I ordered more than 1.

12oz bottle pours clear copper with a nice bumpy off white head. The aroma offers up malt sweetened citrus hops. I get grapefruit, earthy green orange rind and a sense of spicy hops. The taste is full rich hoppy goodness with a nice mix of both citrus hop flavor and growing citrus hop bitterness. Toward the finish it gets to the point of being pretty resiny with citrus and spice and almost a pine like resiny goodness heading into the after taste. Wow! I like.
