This Quadrupel Oak Aged has a deep-bronze colour topped with an amber head. Its aroma is defined by mixed wood and honey notes. These are followed by vinous flavours with a lingering port- or sherry-like scent.
The taste is quite smooth and full. For a Quadrupel this batch is rather dry and well-rounded as a result of a long maturing period in oak or acacia barrels. A two-year aging period is sufficient even if the full taste of this batch, if properly stored, warrants a good couple of years of enjoyability. Besides the effects exerted by red wine and brandy barrels, this Oak Aged also underwent Oloroso influences. The hop taste has all but vanished, but wood and wine tannins have left an agreeable bitter flavour.

Fles gedronken tijdens proeverijtje met Tomhendriksen, Benzai, Roelzie en Keukeman. Robijnrood, licht troebel bier weinig schuim. Heel licht aroma van vanille. Smaak heeft wat pit met een hint van wijn. Nasmaak is licht pittig.

Fles thuis gedeeld met Inoven, LiekevdV, Benzai, Keukeman en Roelzie. Het is een helder bruin bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van sherry en hout. De smaak is vol fruitig, port achtig en warm.

Corked bottle, picked up in Albergen. Dark amber color. Oak, cognac, marzipan and bubblegum in the aroma. Alcoholic, oaky, vinous flavor, with sherry, acacia and cognac. Complex, the oak aging is quite noticeable. Delicious!

Refrigerated 12.7 oz. brown bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Translucent dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, medium body, very little carbonation, and very little lacing. Taste is dark fruit, caramel, oak, and brandy.

Light haze on this deep orange - amber beer, bubbly cream colour head that rapidly dissipates. Smooth palate, a little dry and with very modest fine carbonation. Nose of sherry with lesser sweet esters. Soft dry malts some mild tang and cream. Good sherry intermingles well with modest dried fruits and dessert wine fruits. Ripe citrus and citrus peel. Very mild alcohol spice. Finishes smooth with more caramel tang and a touch of red berries. Juicy and drinkable.
