Thanks to tderoeck. Wheat beer in this series, apparently intended as a Weissbier - perhaps a sign of the German influence in the eastern province of Limburg, not uncommon among breweries there. Hazy golden blonde under a thick and stable, cream white, moussy head. Aroma does show some banana reminiscent of helles Hefeweizen, some green apple, honey, gingerbread, sour yoghurt, cloves. Hint of soft wheaty sourishness in the mouth paired with estery fruitiness, hint of apple, some spicy yeastiness, finish a bit soapy, yeasty and sweetish. I welcome any attempt at making a Hefeweizen in Belgium instead of the ominous witbier, but this needs a lot more work to compete with the ’real’ Bavarians.

Sampled from bottle @ Tim needs to get rid of his ticks tasting. Huge white head on top of a clear pale golden colored beer. Smell and taste wheat, slightly sweet, some yellow fruits, a hint of apple, applepeel. Decent body and carbonation. Not really a weizen but drinkable.

Thanks to tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim needs to get rid of his ticks” Tasting. Enjoyed together with tderoeck, Benzai & Alengrin. Tasted the entire current line-up of Loemelaer (9 beer currently) after each other. Pours ridiculously light & clear once again like the other, way too light colored & clear for the style, little white head. Nose is sugar, sweet chemicals & boring malt-like. Taste is fizzy lemon, white sugar sweet, chemical apple, light yeast (nothing Weize-like about it). Fizzy, very dull & boring. This may be a minor variation of their “Blonde” beer but on this planet this isn’t a Hefeweizen.

23/I/15 - 33cl bottle brought from the brewer @ "I need to get rid of my Belgian ticks" tasting - BB: VI/2015 (2015-71)

Little cloudy, aery irregular white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sugary, very sweet, some banana, marzipan, almonds, bit floral. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of coriander, yeasty, bready, weird, little sourish. Aftertaste: some banana, marzipan, sweet, bit sugary, watery. Totally not according to style, if you ask me...
