19/XI/19 - 33cl bottle @ HoReCa-Expo Gent, BB: n/a - (2019-1854) Thanks to the brewers and the Ghent Beer Posse for sharing today’s beers!
Clear red brown beer, no head. Aroma: weird, very meaty, like veal and salami, very strange stuff, MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, soft acidity, fruity notes, bit artificial, candy notes, unpleasant meaty taste as well. Aftertaste: weird, sweet, soft acidity, strawberry jam, too sweet and sugary. --- Beer merged from original tick of Mariënrode Rood Zoet - on 02 Feb 2019 at 21:09 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 1 | Flavor - 3 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 3. 2/II/19 - 33cl bottle @ Brugs Bierfestival, BB: n/a - (2019-199) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing todays' beers!
Cloudy red beer, small creamy light pink head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very bad smell, lots of sulphur, rotting stuff, dead yeast (autolyse?), very bad. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: all sugary start, bad rotting fruits, pretty dirty, some candy. Aftertaste: more of the same, highly unpleasant.

2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Hazy red with a lasting, thin, foamy, pink head. Aroma of lemon peel, wheat, lactic acid, (expired) red yoghurt, red candy, sour cherry. Taste is heavy fruity sweet, pure red candy with a sugary effect, industrial yoghurt & strawberry jam, light fruity sourness with notes of cherry & wheat providing some balance. Bit tart, wheaty finish, lingering red fruit & candy. Medium body, slick/sticky texture, soft carbonation. The only asset here is that they refrained from turning this into another heavily sweet Fruit Beer that is also alcoholic (Cherry Chouffe, Delirium Red, the likes), extra point for that. So, far from aromatic & complex, but managing to maintain a minimum of tartness, and a decent amount of taste at only 3.9%.
