A modern unfiltered lager with low bitters and subtle floral and spicy hop aromas and a malty body. We refermented the beer with a young ‘actively fermenting’ beer. This is called kräusening: an old German technique of adding young beer to the finished beer in the tank. We used the traditional 0,5 liter bottles to give you that extra special German beer feeling. From tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Aroma is grainy malt with soft fruity notes, hay, straw, minerals, touch of caramel. Mild sweet, moderate bitter. Body is medium. Very fine approximation of a Franconian Keller.

Bottle 50cl. from a Jumbo foodmarket @home poured into a teku glass. Hazy pale amber colour, good frothy and steady off-white head, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malt, apples, light caramel, hay, some honey. Smooth taste, medium sweet and light bitter, malty, apples, some biscuit, spicy notes. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, smooth sweetbitter aftertaste, husky notes, crisp, easy to drink, very nice.

On tap at Gollem Craft Beers - Amstelstraat, pours a mostly clear golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma is fresh, with hay, herbal hops, grass, and crackery malt. Flavour is bright and fresh, with grass, straw and biscuity malt crispness on the finish. Crisp and clean. Very good.

50cl Fles van Oedipus webshop. Mistig amber-gouden kleur, witte kraag. Moutig, rode appels, hint van gist, licht hoppig, wat grassig, degelijk bitter. Had iets meer oomph verwacht, maar meer dan degelijk resultaat hier.

(Draught at Oedipus Brewery Tap, Amsterdam, 7 May 2022) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, dough, grass and herbal hops. Malty, taste with bread, grass, herbs, dough and a mild herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain malt sweetness. Really tasty and well balanced kellerbier. Nice one.

Pours a deep golden to amber colour and a rocky off white head, a small layer retention. Aroma's of malts, fruity, a little dusty. Retronasal follows this. Flavour is light moderate sweet with some fruit and a hint of bitterness. Light bodied but certainly not thin. Light bitter finish. True to the style. These guys are getting good at it.
