Ise Kadoya Light My Fire IPA RED IPA 6% When I saw the name I knew I had to listen to the Dors while drinking it. Lovely amber orange color with a beige foamy top and nicely malty aroma. Piney hop character with sweet malts and hints of rye type spice. All in all a pleasing drop.

Dank and earthy hoppiness. Quite sharp and nice bitterness. Pretty tasty. Got hints of something a little tropical but that spiky maltiness keeps it tethered down. Bit of sweet maltiness there too verging towards the chocolate but quite subtle.

Bottle in a mixed 6er from the brewery for corona drinking. Hazy deep amber-brown with some lace. Nose is rich nutty malt with caramel and chocolate, plus nice hops, resiny and citrus. Also some cherries and stone fruit. Nose is a lot like their old hoppy brown ale. Not really IPA, but very good. Flavor is more in IPA territory. Juicy and fruity, rather in the NE strain, with orange juice, mango, papaya, plus quite a bit of piny resin, and rich chocolaty malts. It's really damn tasty. Mouth is full but not at all heavy, with a crisp finish that is just bitter enough. The whole concept of the style is a bit weird--it's like a hoppy brown, although the hops here are more fruity and juicy than any old-style American brown. Good stuff. These guys are nailing it lately.
