I highly recommend the train journey through the Black Forest in Germany. I've done the Schwarzwald twice. First time for this not fully black coloured beer, but very dark-malty in character. Although a very cask texture there's sweetish ingredients associated with German style dark beers, and they're very good.

1/10/2022. Bottle shared at the Torun GP beer share. From Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours clear very dark brown with a small bubbly/frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is mild, malty, chocolate, light cherry, caramel, touch roasted. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, lightly creamy, average to soft carbonation. Good.

500ml bottle from local shop. Deep brown amber colour, off white bubbly foam head and aroma of malt, toffee, some chocolate. Taste is sweetish, malt, smoked hint, then some toffee, chocolate, dark fruits and nutty bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry nutty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.
