Gebaseerd op een familierecept uit 1948, gebruikmakend van speciale Münchener en Vienna mout. Ivo Kaanen, de huidige brouwmeester, heeft het receptuur vertaald naar deze tijd. Het familie-gist zorgt voor een smaakvol en volmondig bier doch droog en fris in de afdronk met een spoortje zoet. Een blond bier met bravoure van 7,5%.

Bottle, thanks to Fergus, split on the 17.58 Waterloo - Windsor train with the Wingman, 20/05/14. Golden with a mahoosive creamy off white head of frothdom. Nose is a little on the thin side, muted citric and lemon peel notes, light spice, bread dough, straw. Taste comprises citric peel, caramel, yeast esters, bitter orange, lemon rind, spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, tarte fruit peel and light spice in the close. So so Belgian stylee, doesn’t deliver a lot when considering the ABV.

33cl Bottle, bought at PINT Winterbierfestival. As Beerze Blond Bier. Almost clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of citrus, bread, yeast, light fruity, not unlike Duvel. Flavour is light to medium-sweet, fruity, light fruity acidity, yeast, malts, alcohol, spirit, crude bitter finish. Medium-bodied at best, fizzy carbonation. OK Tripel/Strong Blonde ale.

geel/oranje/gouden helder met schuimige witte kraag, aroma is fruitig en floraal. De smaken komen in eerste instantie zacht binnen, matig zoet, licht bitter, matig gemout maar redelijk stevig kruidig, medium body, glad maar bovenal vind ik het bier in de smaak wat onaangenaam.

Bottled. Hazy orangeish golden colour with a small fluffy off-white head. Aroma is spices, some floral, herbal and wooden notes along with a bit of yeast. Flavour is floral, some slight yeasty and spicy notes along with some grassy notes. Quite basic brew.

Thanks bierkoning! Slightly hazy orange-yellow color, huge off-white head and lace. Kind of cellary nose but perhaps it is a combination of yeast and hops - citrus, earthyness. Light to medium-bodied. Saaz hoppyness, yeast, hay and bitterness. Lingering bitterness, some alcohol. Earthy notes are a bit disturbing.

Bottle bought at the brewpub. Hazed orange pour with a thick white frothy head that sticks around. Aroma is nice grapefruit lemon hop. Flavour is wheat malt and substantial bitterness. Dirty bitterness in the finish. Dry finish. High carb.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy light amber with a huge frothy white head. It was almost a gusher. The aroma is pure yeast which leads to a medium to strong bitter flavour with some yeast and liqourice on the rather smooth palate. At 7.5% it’s a strong blond and tastes more like a tripel with all that alcohol and liqourice.
