Introduced in 2009 as the dark counterpart of the classic Augustijn Blond. Possibly an alias of Bornem Dubbel.

Aroma: Fruitig (rood fruit) en lichtjes gerookt

Smaksprøve servert fra flaske i mottakelsesrommet på det koselige familiebryggeriet 30 Apr 11. Dyp brun / amber. Litt uklar. Høyt kremaktig skum. Svakt krydret aroma. Smaken er vel tungt krydderdominert. Litt karamell i ettersmaken. (Prologen TdGeuze 2011).

330 ml stubby bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 7%. Cloudy dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Moderate aroma of brown malts, a little caramel and mild spices. The flavour has distinct notes of brown malts, caramel and brown kandij sugar, also mild spices. Moderate hops. Warming mouthfeel, very drinkable.

33cl bottle from a mixed 6-pack from Lidl. Reddish copper in colour with a loose white head; aroma of toffee apples; nutty, earthy flavour with some sweetness, and a leathery finish, with gently warming alcohol. Very nice.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It forms a finger-thick off-white to beige head as it pours a slightly unclear copper to brown colored body. The aroma is raisiny, with some more generic dark dried fruityness. Some caramel and alcohol and a spice hint. It’s sweet, yet dry on the palate, full-bodied and slightly warming and nicely pleasantly carbonated. There’s dried fruits, sweetness and a pleasant bitterness in the flavor. Nice bitterness in the finish too. A pleasant and tasteful one. 110430

Dark brown color, almost black; generous head, but not steady, fizzy pour. Mild aroma, caramel, but also a fruity vein. Caramel flavor with roasted malt tones, candi sugar, light residual sweetness. The final is a bit drier. Easy.
