11.2 oz bottle from a Brouwerij Van Steenberge variety pack. Pours hazy brown with red highlights; has a medium beige head with good retention. Aroma consists of banana and clove with a hint of dark fruit. Taste is sweet and spicy with a lightly bitter grainy finish. Tasty yet nothing spectacular.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a bit of dark fruit with some cola and Belgian yeast. Flavor is more of a caramel malt and sugar with not much else. Finish is sweet but dry. Not the best dubble as this lacks any heavy dark fruit or Belgain yeast notes. Probably good for those first exploring the style. There are much better out there though.

Capped 750 from Wine and Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours dark ruddy brown with a beige head. Aroma is mixed berry and wood. Sort of fruits de bois. Med body. Lots of fruit sort of cola, astringent wood - hints of of metal - in the finish.

Bottle. Pours dark amber clear with a medium off-white head that dissipates quickly with no lacing. Aroma is heavy with roasted malt, caramel and Belgian yeast. Taste is medium sweet, roasted caramel malts, Belgian yeast and alcohol notes. Medium carbonation, creamy in the mouth.

Dark brown, metallic taste like all beers of Van Steenberge. A lot of foam. Sweet and bitter aftertaste.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Ruby brown with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and dark fruits (raisins and plums). Bittersweet with an almost cherry-like taste. Lively carbonation and regrettably a rather short finish.
