FARMHOUSE ALE

Golden, naturally cloudy & dry-hopped for a tart & tasty balance of spicy malts, hops, & yeast.

12 oz. can, while camping. Pours a clear, straw color, with a big, foamy, white head. The nose is lemongrass, grains of paradise, light pine, and rosemary oils. Sweet and phenoic, with a faint, earthy bitterness. Lightly funky and sour. Pretty nice.

Draught. A cloudy gold with the characteristic jolly pumpkin sourness. Which I hate.

Bottle. Cloudy apperance, with yeast on the bottom. Spicy, barnyard smell. Aww, another adventure into a sour beer. Well, this one is not bad. Maybe I’m getting the hang of this stuff. Still, not my first choice. Does have a nice malt-hop balance but that twangy taste.....

330ml bottle.
nice golden straw color. HUGE white head, wicked lacing on my glass. Aroma is sooooooooo nice. Big peppery notes. Lots of apples, and plums, and some citrus, coupled with that great saison pepperiness is outstanding! Flavour is so complex. Slight tartness reminds me of a lambic, but its so smooth. Great fruit, and peppery notes. Lots of sour hops. Wow, just a wicked saison. One of my new favorites for the style.

Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is tart fruits and grainy malt with peppery saison yeast, funky notes, citrus, lightly grassy hops, herbal hints. Flavour is tart and light sour with a little bitterness in the (dry) finish. Body is medium. Dry and funky, the way I like my Saison.

Extremely well balanced beer. It's spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Yeasty but not chewy. very good.

16 ounce can. Honey gold pour. Rocky beige head. Earthy yeast and spicy malt aroma. A hint of bubble gum as well. Flavor is soft and supple. Notes of tangy malt, citrus peel, light oak, hay and a hint of funk. Some spice on backend. Pleasant and approachable for the style.

0.473 l can, canned in November 2021, from an IP trade with fonefan, many thanks Jan! A little hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently funky, quite fruity-floral aroma of lemon peel, hay, brett and gooseberry. Just slightly sweet, a little sour, gently funky and quite fruity-floral taste of gooseberry, brett, lemon peel, dill and some hay, followed by a short, a little tart, gently dry finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Refreshing, very well-balanced Saison with quite some brett and a fruity character. Good!

Poured from 473mL can @ Black Valentines. Hazy gold with small white head. Woody, mild funk, touch of saison yeast, fairly dry.
