Brewed with heather tips, wild juniper berries and fresh sweet orange peel, this Beligan style beer is a nod to those sometimes bizarre accounts.

7/VII/14 - 75cl bottle leftover saved from RBBSG III with cap and in the fridge, since I couldn't keep up with the tick fest @ home - BB: n/a, 2013 vintage (2014-784) Thanks to Travlr for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark orange beer, small aery white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: spicy, orange peel, very spicy, bit sugary. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bits weet start, some orange peel, very spicy, bit oxidized, might be due to keeping though. Aftertaste: spicy, orange peel, bit sugary, sweet. Meh.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to travlr! Cool label. Golden, white head. Doesn’t smell okay to me, lactic, this yeasty, sour, citrus, soap. Tastes of thick old chunky yeast, plaster, lactic, spoiled yoghurt, artificial citrus. Thick yeast, this doesn’t feel alright to me.

Corked bottle from Steamworks Liquor Store, Vancouver, as Muskoka Oddity
vintage 2013, bb 30 Sept 2014

Hazy blond color with medium sized compact head. Belgian aroma, lightly spicy and fruity, some esters, very light soap. Dynamic mouthfeel, lean and with very moderate sweetness; nice malt flavor, with delicate fruit and spice presence, no dominating traits; correct bitterness.
Has a few merits: clean, great balance, harmony and not showing too much the spices.
Very nice.

Bottle from the LCBO. slightly hazy pale orange with a small white head that lingers. Nose is yeast and spice with citrus notes as well as some apricot and caramel. Quite spicy with cloves dominant but not overpowering. Some light sweetness and moderate citrus bitterness. Medium sticky mouth with lively carbonation.

Bottle @ ZZT 9 thanks to Dutchdrebus. Opaque yellow color, small white head. Can’t smell anything due to the hayfever goddamn. Taste malts, a bit yeasty, some hops, a bit bitter. Don’t know why, maybe because I can’t get the aroma good enough due to the hayfever, but I’m not too impressed. Medium body and carbonation.

75 cl bottle @ Timo A, no freshness info
Aroma has fruity notes and soapy apricot. Flavour has some moldy tones. Also fruits, apricot and soapy tones. Refreshing, a Belgian clone well done. The moldy tones are not nice though. Gets better with yeast added.

750ml bottle @ Timo A., thanks!

Pours clear golden with a smooth white head. Aroma of sweet fruitness, esthery notes, orange peel, spices, bubblegum, yeast and maltiness. Taste is smooth, sweetish and yeasty with some orange peel notes, spices, berries and alcohol. Finish is sweet, sticky and malty with some yeastiness, sweet fruitness and orange peel notes. Okay, quite sweet and sticky Belgian blonde.
