33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy opaque, dark gold, with no foam. Aroma is nicely smoked. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is moderate in sweetness, with the smokey feeling dominating. A little sour in the background. Final is kind of short.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2014. Clear golden, bubbles. Oily nose, light peat, lemon, smoke, peat is clearly there but no overkill. Taste is bitter peat plastic, oily lots of malts, herbal, leaves. Strong, lightly plastic malt body. Taste is peat but not very outspoken, middle-of-the road with plenty of malt. Middling & not overly outspoken but drinks nicely.

Tap at Open Baladin, Roma, 10/02/13. Hazed mid amber with a big frothy white head that retains well. Nose is dark fruits, malt, smoked gammon, cinnamon, spice, light citrus. Taste comprises medicainal tones, TCP, smoked meat, dark malt, toffee, caramel, background sugars. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, bitterness and smoke in the finish. The ’Rausch’ factor is well balanced in this one - decent smoked fayre!

Bottle in Rome, purchased from Domus Birrae. Light haze on this amber beer, residual white head. Light dry palate. Even malt and some minerals. Not picking up much peat which means this is just a boring malty beer!

Muddy yellow iwith a lasting white head. Aroma of pineapple yeast esters clashing with peaty smoke. Dry and fruity flavour with lasting peat smoke. Iodine and pineapple. I don’t get it.

100ml on tap at The Copenhagen Beer Festival 09. Cloudy pale golden. No head to speak of. Smoked malts with fruits in aroma. Similar taste with fruit on a smoked backbone. Weak bitter ending, but not bad at all (15.05.2009).
