A healthy mind in a healthy body ...

While smart scientists are working hard on a vaccine for Covid 19, brewery Alvinne wants to help with the first part of the slogan, namely the healthy mind. With Vaccin (Various Ales Creative Challenging Innovative New), Alvinne brings a series of unique beers with a very limited edition. The aim is to alleviate people's mental suffering and every Vaccin beer will be tested directly on humans.

The first beer in the series, Vaccin 1.0. is a fresh sour blond beer Phi dry hopped with the French aroma hop "Barbe Rouge", which has hints of strawberry and cherry.

Bottle at home, thanks to Maakun. Unclear golden with white head. Sour grainy popcorn glue vs. the peachjuicer. Dry and grainy, with nice peachy sweetness — within the sour madness we live in. Good gripping tension in the sourness. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very nice. Very mild sourness in the Alvinne spectrum. Pineapple juicy, lemon juice sprinkled. White pepper, yoghurt yeasty. Enough going on to last me through another Covid outbreak (nudge, nudge, wink, wink,... keep ‘m coming guys)!

Bottle shared. Hazy orange-ish with creamy head. Smells a bit like yoghurt, green herbs and balsamico. Creamy grains, corn tortillas, lactic sourness, light berries, red wine vinegar aroma, soft bandaids. Medium sweet, bit over medium sour and light bitter. Solid medium bodied. Has some off notes like popcorn and red wine vinegar but they're not too annoying and go away with some waiting and swirling. Nice take but definitely not close to my favorite Alvinne beers.

Bottle. Color: Hazy orange amber, dense white head. Aroma: Fruity tart, hoppy. Taste: Over moderate to medium tart, fruity notes of sour lemon, strawberry, rhubarb, hints of stone fruit, moderate to over moderate hopbitterness. I think this one is more sour than any other Sour IPA I've ever had. And the fruity strawberry also makes this one different. Reminds me somehow of strawberry icecream sorbet. Enjoying this refreshing beer sitting in the sun at about 30 degrees Celsius, making it feel even more refreshing. Nice one.

Pours warm, unclear amber. Medium sized, very creamy white head. Scent is orange, fresh, lemon (tart side of lemon) dry. Taste is full, dry, bit 'green', herbal side of PHI. Still fullbodied, with medium sweet side next to the sour character which is mild, and very malt-orientend base. I woouldn't go as fas as calling this an IPA, but it's dry hopped character indeed sets it appart very much. Medium carbonation. Nice, not the biggest fan of the herbal, green front of the taste, but it ends more like i'm used to in PHI, which is Always nice.
