Espresso and Stout. A bewitching blend of two rich, roasted flavours. We use the finest fresh coffee to enhance the decadent pleasure of this dark and complex beer. Black as sin and just as much fun. Was 7.0% ABV

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured very dark brown with a lasting beige coloured head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, touch of vanilla and dark fruit. Medium sweetness, toward heavy roasted coffee bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, carbonation bit too lively.

12oz bottle pours a muddy dark brown/black with some clumpy, khaki head. Nose has malt, toast, some mild coffee bean, black pepper, chocolate. Flavor has black pepper, a little roasted mushroom, even some roasted tomato, malt, coffee bean. Finishes dry, a touch spritzy/spicy. OK.

Bottle - Dark bitter roast malts and some dark fruit. Jet brown with a rich light brown head. Dark roast malts and the espresso slightly in the finish. A light fruity acidity is in the background which diminishes the richness.

Hand-pulled cask ale at York Tap, half-pint. Faint fawn-coloured head to a devil-black body. Quite rich aromas of roasted malts, tobacco, coffee, and chocolate sweetness. Brown and black malty flavours of liquorice, coffee and earth leading to a roasted bitter ending. Surprisingly easy to drink. Likeable (York 10.07.2014).

Cask at Maidenhead beer festival 2014. A black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, coffee, bitter. Very good stout which went down far too easily.
