Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Valentines Day! Pours clear, red-brown with a huge, off-white head. Some dark fruits in the nose, berries. Medium sweet flavor, ripe fruits, very faint caramel. Fairly juicy. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Sweet finish, more berries and other ripe fruits, some lightly toasted malts. A pretty easy drinking dubbel.

33cl Bottle. Very dark brown with red sparks. Huge foamy light brown head. Roasted malt and coffee aromas. Sweet malty taste with lots of roasted flavors as well. The only let down is the surprisingly light body. Otherwise it would be excellent.

Bottle from bu11zeye. Pours with a light brown head and a murky dark brown body. Aroma of clove, a bit of leather, flowery with dark fruits. Taste is leathery and chocolatey with spices. A bit on the fizzy side.

Huge amberish dense head over bright shining amber beer. Sweet, almondy, with roasted malts and strange spices in the nose. Taste: ah. the strange spices are called coriander. Right. Parsley and very sweet. Bit sticky, slick MF, and quite empty, bland. Medium bodied, maybe. Bwègh. Du Bocq at its worst. Labelbeer for...Earlier Rating: 10/15/2004 Total Score: 3.4Very dark brown beer; yellow-brown head, creamy at first but dwindling. Sweet nuts, bread, buttery (but not diacetyl-like), leafy & yeasty aromas. Sweet-bitterish taste, but with a sourish balance (CO²?). Leafy and nutoil, dark malts, yeasty. Chestnut flour and bitter roasted malts retronasal. Very carbonated mouthfeel, nearly fizzy, tittilating, and much lighter bodied than than the flavour would suggest. Not half bad. A bit rough, but the balance is there. Better hops, less aggressive dark malts would do it no harm.
