Can from Cloudwater online shop. Murky amber body with an off-white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of honey and tangy marmalade. Flavour of orange rind, menthol and a hint of black pepper with grape qualities on the finish. Medium to full body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny I paid for it. This is one of the best Cloudwater beers I’ve tasted.

Can. Opened this much earlier than I was ptlanning after my beer bros said it was more akin to a TIPA. It is a slightly deep and hazy gold colour with a decent pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth and pretty sweet malts. A little alcohol spice with a mild but pleasing brandy undertone. Sweet fruity piney hops, mostly ripe fruits but the pine really lifts the orange and grapefruit aspects. Some fruit infused vodka on the end. Hmmm, interesting brew, almost certain I would not of identified this as barleywine. As my bros said more of a TIPA but quite a sweet and ripe one. Amusing but the lack of hop brightness or malt richness means it does sit somewhat in no mans land.

Can at home, chugging online Zoom with other bro's including hater SHIG who doesn't read the instructions, 01/05/20. Hazed orange amber with a decent faded egg shell white covering. Nose is sweet malts, subdued hops, mango, papaya, orange peel, sticky tropical fruits. Taste comprises caramel, orange, sweet malts, sugars, light booze, prunes, sticky Tropicana. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with juicy hops leading to a balanced rising boost. Does what it says on the tin … old skool BW vs sticky DIPA combo .. holds up pretty well.

Can at home from CW online. Pours murky orange gold with a solid white head. Aroma is sticky marmalade, sweet booze, caramel, orange juice and mango. Taste is orange, mango, marmalade, booze and caramel, quite sticky and sweet but with a boozy hit that takes off that sweet edge. Doesn't drink at 9% at the start but certainly heads that way. Decent and fun!
