Bottle. Wow cold brewed! thanks for telling me bottle. I apreciate Diageo’s attempts to diversify to non traditional styles but the marketing on this was embarrasssing. It’s ok though.

Bottle. Not as good as I thought it would be. Tastes more like a average lager than a schwarzbier. Started off good. Nice dark color, nice head. Aroma, smells kind of like metal. Taste, just not that great.

Black with a bit of light that escapes, looks like a porter. Small bubbly off white, beige head. Odd, malty, cereal, dme aroma. Body is thin, and watery, carb is very low, almost flat. Finish is pretty bland, light malts, more dme. Meh, i guess incredibly clod this would be refreshing? Lawn mower beer if you ask me.

Bottle at Guinness Storehouse, Dublin: Very black brew with an taste of roasted malts and at the same time refreshing. Bold move to try something from Thuringia.

Bottle. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is toasted, some grassy and ashy tones with mild rye bready elements. Flavour is roasted, some vegetably, grainy, herbal and mild earthy elements.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Downtown Discount Beverage. Aroma is purple grape/dark fruits, noble hops. Appearance is dark brown--almost opaque--with small off-white head that fades quickly. Trace lacing. Taste is strong rich malts with dark fruit and mild noble hop bitter balance. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture and tongue-stinging lively carbonation with crisp finish. Overall, more fruity than a traditional Schwarzbier but good nonetheless.

Funny how Guinness has these other products that I never think about.... and occasionally bump into running around the planet. This has a decent foamy head and black body, sorta the non-creamy version of the "proper" Guiness product if’n you will. Macro barley on the nose, nothing more, nothing less, adequate. Flavour is faint roasted barley. Really watery palate. Not sure what the point is, it’s sort of like a watered down stout. Odd thing, not awful, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

12oz bottle into a Corsendonk badged stemmed tulip on 19th May 2015. As the name suggests this is a black bodied lager, the head a slowly dispersing lightly tanned head. Mild malt nose, the taste also malts to the fore in the flavouring. Nothing special, nothing wrong with it: but not really for me, I prefer my beers less carbonated and less lager-like overall.
