Bottle: Poured a clear dark color lager with a small off-white foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of lightly toasted malt is mildly pleasant. Taste is also dominated by lightly toasted malt with light dry bitter notes and watery finish. Body is light with OK carbonation. This is a water-down version of Guinness which says a lot about this beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Dark brown with a bit of beige foam. Aroma of malt, caramel, light roastiness, a bit of oxidation and vegetal notes. Sweetish flavor, slightly roasty, with a bit of caramel, toasted bread and a drier and slightly bitter finish. Rather light-bodied.

Black body with a tall, rocky tan head. Aroma is lightly roasted malts, a bit of sweet malts. Thin body. Flavor is light and unpleasant. Light sweetness and dry toasted malt. A bit of bitter roasted malts on the back end. This is a poor attempt at a schwarbier.

Bottle. A- Metal, roasty, coffee. A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Licorice, roasted cereal, spiced. P- Medium body, average texture, medium carbonation, boring finish. O- Tastes like a Guinness Draught but with an obvious lager feel. Definitely does not look as great as a Guinness but it’s not a bad beer.

This lager poured a deep black colour with a nice, big, creamy head. To the nose there are scents of roasted malt, tiny bit of vinegar and cooked veggies? First sip was quite thin with flavours of roasted malt and light smoke. Finish is medium smokey and a faint hop bitterness.

Not enough roast grain aroma or taste to carry this one. Overall mouthfeel is watery and no lasting palate. Black and more of a lager than a schwarzbier, and hardly worthy of the Guinness name.

Recently added to the Ontario-Quebec market (maybe rest of Canada too). Pours a dark brown colour with a bubbly beige head, decent retention and lots of soapy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some rusty hops that make it on top with time. This is the same for the taste where the rusty hops become stronger with time. Watery toasted malts with slight burnt bread. Notes of chocolate appears in the nose eventually. Made thin for those who do not like the thicker Guinness stout. An average macro schwarzbier.
