A reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. A nutty chocolate malt with light dark fruits. In mouth, nutty ale with fruity esters, a bit of boiled vegetables. Medium bodied. On tap at MSP location, Jan 24 2009.

Sampler at MSP airport. The beer is clear but dark enough to make lower clarity. The aroma is dark, very woodsy, and light roast. There is some caramel sweetness as well. This caramel sweetness turns weird in the flavor, a bit vegetal and astringent in the finish, really kind of turned me off.

Sample at the MSP location. This beer is a dark brownish color with a medium thin beige head that has decent retention. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt and nuts, plus a little bit of hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, nuts and hops. The finish is sweet and nutty with a lingering malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample from tap at the brewpub in Minneapolis. Pours brown. Roasted malt, slight nuttty and chocolate aroma. Flavour is a bitter blend of hops and chocolate. Very dry nutty finish. Cask version was stronger on the hops.
