10 oz. draft at the brewpub in Lawrence, Kansas. The pour is darker golden copper with a smallish off white head, that left nice lace. The aroma is light molasses malt sweet, grass, hay, and pine. The taste is big on the malt sweetness, quite bright caramel molasses, the hops are present with grass and pine. The flavor is well integrated and clean, which for me actually worked against the beer, taking away some of the big hop and malt character of the nose. The palate is medium bodied, well managed alcohol in the finish. Nice enough.

10oz on tap at the brewpub. A dark amber color, clear but dark with a long lasting head. The beer doesn’t taste too big, so good job checking the alcohol. The hops are strong but managable, particularly not as bitter as you would think for over 90 IBUs and fortunately its not because the beer is sticky sweet. The beer does have some mild caramel sweetness but well attenuated. Its a bit too clean for me, seems to skip the nuances and heads straight for a target. Nice stuff, very doable bigger beer.
