Ethiopian Harrar coffee is one of the oldest coffee beans still produced and is known for its distinctive fruity, wine flavor. To make this mead we cold-soaked 6 lbs of it for 48 hours to extract as much of the wonderful flavor and aroma as possible. Roastmaster and all-around coffee nut, Frank Lanzkron-Tamarazo (owner of Chazzano), provided his consultation for this first collaboration between the two Ferndale, MI companies. The coffee was selected to pair perfectly with the earthy Michigan wildflower honey. Serve at cellar temperature.

THX! for sharing this one Sebletitje. 375 ml. Neon Purple B. Nektar bottle done by 2 sort-of. Pours a coffee / copper shaded amber with no head. Nose is HUGE coffee, like being inside a coffee roastery and pushing your nose into the coffee, its BIG, very strongly roasted, lightly burned, heavy, light wild, touch herbal honey and sugar, thick sweetness underneath. Taste is luckily less crazily heavy on the coffee – might have been interesting and apparently was a bit like that when fresh – sweet honey taste with very thick camomile sweetness, crystallized sugar, wild thistles and flowers, lots of coffee rushing in, very strong dominant coffee, lots of it, very well roasted, coffee bitterness in the back. Body is not a thick as suggested,… Very enjoyable and I am not much of a coffee lover.
