Qroontje, brewed on express demand of the largest Flemish Dentists’ association, is a Belgian wit - however, NOT in the ubiquituous Hoegaarden style, but more in the line of Leuvense Peeterman, Neeryssche Dobbel-wit or other historic wheatbeers (wit has to be translated as tarwe, wheat; not as white). The name is a reference to something dentists like to make, as to the peculiar spelling, the label says it all. 55% pilsnermalt, 35% wheat, 7% oats, 3% biscuitmalt, Spalthops. Separate fermentation Saccharomyces and Lactobacillus.

Bottle as Wadesda #2 from bu11zeye. Pours very, very hazy light gold with a frothing white head. Aroma is very fruity - like ripe apricot. Med minus body. Flavor is fruit followed by wheat. It’s rather dry, and astringent. Still seems like mild apricot to me. Very different. Took a long time, but the lactic aspect is finally kicking in. I can imagine a bit of funk. Or sweat sox.

330 ml bottle thanks going out to bu11zeye on this one. Labeled as Wadesda #2 at 3.8 % ABV. Dirty, murky golden color with soapy head that laced. Flavor is very strong herbal notes. Chamomile, pepper, coriander and some sharp lactic sourness. Finish is again spicy with grassy hops, pepper and old used tea bags. Overall lots of lingering herbal notes. Lighter in body and not a bad drink at all. However, I think with the low ABV, this was a completely different beer about 9 or 10 months ago. Still drinkable now but slightly odd.

Bottle(thanks to Rian!):Golden, hazy, small to medium-sized off-white head, boiled milk in the sourish-grainy nose;moderate to solid dry sour-bitter flavour, light bodied, quite soft instead; lingering dry bitter-hoppy finish, the acidity is almost not more detectable. Bitter and refreshing…

Bottle at Café La Brocante, Brussels, as Wadesda #2, 3.8% ABV, bb 20 Dec 2012
Darker shade of blond, hazy, with large head, persistent, and nice lace. Nice aroma of hops and cereals, a bit grassy. The mouthfeel is not too light, there is a pleasant flavor of cereals, a touch of honey, and a quite strong bitterness.
Very nice; fresh must have been a perfect beer for the summer.
