Jerk Bird

Belgian Golden Strong Ale with Brettanomyces Claussenii

Flavors and aromas reminiscent of pineapple, pepper. A beautifully complex, but perfectly balanced beer. Often consumed when taking too many selfies and walking across our bar when the concrete was wet. Stupid bird

Cute smaller bottle. Dull golden color. The description is this beer was very interesting. It's a sweeter version of the beer I wanted. Funky sweet beer.

Crisp clear golden and peach coloured body with a fast-dying off-white head that shows a good amount of large bubbles - kind of soapy. Aroma of bread, yeast, alcohol, coriander seed, a lot of curacao and even more honey and sweetness/unfinished sugars. Full-bodied; Strong citrus taste up front with honeysuckle, flowers, grain, coriander seed and a little grassy character that ultimately shows some brett and funk notes at the end - very nice and interesting. Aftertaste shows the brett funk up front that lingers into a pleasant yeast and breadie finish along with some honey and fruity sweetness that shows a nice complexity. Overall, a surprisingly good and well-rounded beer complete with some funkiness, but otherwise a relatively straight forward tripel showing some pleasant sweetness. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from West LakeView Liqours in Chicago, Illinois on 14-November-2015 for US$11,95 sampled at home on my youngest daughter’s first birthday party - 30-January-2016.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2015. Pours a cloudy light yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light funk with light fruit and a strong sweet grain and biscuit finish. Flavor has notes of bretty sweet grain with a bit of light fruit and biscuit underlying.
