Sample during the Hoppin’ On Deck 3 tasting on 10/05/2018. Clear copper-amber color with a medium eggshell-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. Boozy aroma of maple, whiskey and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of maple, whiskey, caramel malt and fruit. The finish is sweet with a maple and whiskey aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

I'm not sure what a Canadian style barley wine is, and I'm Canadian. A little maple I guess, but too much for this Canadian. Lots of boiled down malt, booze and caramel. Bottle shared at tasting.

22oz bottle at the January DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a dark ruby red, brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was a lot of booze, hot malts, some toffee, caramel maple character with a slight herbal, earthy hop note. Flavor was similar, in that it was slightly sweet, hot boozy caramel maple. Might needed a little more age on it. It was decent.

Bottle at tasting. Wow, maple and strong aroma. It's not a bad barleywine and it's also super strong and sweet maple. Flavor is similar. It's really a maple barelywine with nothing too bad in the barleywine. But maple isn't tasty to me.

From a bottle at the DC RB gathering January 7, 2017. Pours a clear pale amber with an off white head. Aroma is alcohol. Flavor is sweet caramel with an intense alcohol bite. Would be great for ice fishing I suppose.
