Pinkies Up is an AVIPA that is clocking in at 18.4% and is dry hopped 5 times during fermentation. One hop per day with Citra, Galaxy, Nelson, Mosaic, & Amarillo and then for good measure we dry hop Pinkies Up one more time with all five hops together! Pinkies Up is a single run beer to give the beer a thick & creamy mouthfeel to withstand the huge ABV (i.e. We mash four times, like normal, but only got half the amount of beer because we didn't sparge). Notes of Pineapple, Tangerine, White Grape, Peach, Berry, & Pine.

P.S. You may be wondering what an AVIPA is? We coined the term AVIPA to be an IPA with an ABV greater than 18% and is dry-hopped a minimum of FIVE times!

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy amber pour, one finger creamy off-white head. Aroma is overripe citrus, caramel and alcohol. Boozy AF. Big alcohol burn hits of front, fruity, citrus, tropical, zesty, toffee. Recalls the days of big boozy malt bombs. I think this is the strongest IPA I've had.

Aromas are subdued pineapple, peach and a little resin hops with some caramel malt. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, meaning sweet with some solvent. Boozy finish. Not very well balanced.

Pint can from Niemuth's, 1/28/23. 18.4%? ERMAGERD! But it's 3:06 AM so I guess time for a nightcap. I fully expect that I'll find most of this still in the glass later this morning. Or early afternoon. Whenever I wake up. Clear amber, medium fizzy tan head, poor retention. Aroma of dank, resin, cotton candy. Taste is resin, dank, toffee, strawberry, citrus, booze. Strong bitterness. Prickly booze but not bad for the ABV. Kinda too much for a beer but not bad.

Tap at EBF, Boston. Color is cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, pineapple, ripe fruits, hops and malts. Very heavy. Not so boozy as expected but still... boozy.

Can at the DC RateBeer tasting. Slightly hazy golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, floral. Tastes of citrus, big bitter floral notes, booze. Medium body with a dry and hot finish. Smells fine but falls apart in the taste. Love Aslin and most of their beers but this is definitely the worst beer I've had from them. y tho?

16oz can pours a bright, neon orange, no head. Leggy. Nose is OK, very very grassy, big C hops, lemon, orange. Nose does not indicate a level of booze. Flavor though is a booze bomb, seriously gasoline, lemon, pine, grass, but the booze is just entirely overpowering. Hot finish. Why?

16oz can at the January DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a Poured a cloudy golden color with a medium size, quickly fizzy disipating head. Aroma was pine resin, citrus. FLavor was sweet and boozy. Nice idea guys, but this was just silly in the boozy character that came out. Heat isn't very pleasant. These things rarely work out. Stick to something closer to 8%...

Tall boy can from tasting. Smells like alcohol hops. That distilled like hop aroma. But not sweet or bitter. Flavor is decent for 18%, I'll admit. Like alcohol hops. It's too much of each but fine for the idea.
