Fast disappearing, just off-white head over orange-ochre, clear beer. Spicy, oranges, some noble hops, citrussy. Meaty, light gravy flavour with muscat grapes - as the sauce for a light roast. Bit peppery too, at that! Rather light body, well-carbonated, hopoil-slick. Very nice beer indeed.

50 cL bottle at ACBF2011. Pours dark golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is roasted malty, slight wooden and dry phenolic. Lingering fruity, slight wooden and mild winous. Ends subdued sweet and mild fruity. Lasting caramelish note.

Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours clear, rich gold with a thick, white cream head. Strongly attenuated malt aroma with notes of honey, toffee and lightly burnt sugar. Very nice flavor, with more attenuated sugar, caramel, bread, and hints of booze. Light to medium in body with soft carbonation and mild warmth. Thinner in body than I would have expected. Relatively short finish, lightly warming, hinting of sugar, alcohol and toffee. Starts great in the nose but struggles a bit to keep it up. Still, overall a pretty nice beer.

Coalition Old Ale brewed with Dark Star. On tap at the Euston Tap. Hazy amber beer, little white head. Smooth semi dry palate. Spicy dry malt with a bitter hop edge. A little honeyish sweet orange underneath but this is a bitter beer overall. Dry finish and bitter aftertaste. Okay.Original score 2.9.

ACBF. Hazy gold beer. Honeyish nose. Light soft palate, a little dry. Honey and orange and a trace of medicinal something, Okay but comes over as a honey beer more than an Old Ale.
