Dark red-amber colour. Aroma shows caramel, cherries and brown sugar. A little bit thin, though, but at least there’s some complexity - cherries, raisins, metal, toffee and oranges. Hint of yeast.

Cloudy amber color; big thick head. Malt aroma (similar to Chimay Red). Pleasant malty/caramel taste, with a quite strong final bitterness. Somehow dry finish, but a pleasant brew, quite interesting.

Mechelsen Bruynen with bottle-conditioning. Dark golden-brown, yeast in suspension. Nose of dark malts, raisins and madeira or crème de noix. Fairly bitter at first, from roasted malts, than fading into biscuit-like sweetness. Quite fizzy. Bitterness returns after a while, but less pleasing as before.
