Flaske på Cardinaltreff jan-13: kremet, langvarig skum. Diskret aroma av pepper. God munnfylde. Smak av pepper med fruktige innslag. Et øl som egner seg best til å dele, og har ingenting i mot å gjøre det en annen gang også.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Hazy amber to brown colour, huge off-white head. Moderate but nice aroma of malts, yeast and roasted pepper, some fruity hints too.
Roasted pepper dominates the flavour totally, some yeasty hints too. Interesting, but too much pepper for me, one small glass appears to be enough. Then the peppery bite slowly begins to feel moreish ...

Medium creamy shiny offwhite head. Hazy opaque orange body. Light fruity mealy aroma with spicy notes. Dry spicy herbal coriander taste with spicy minty notes. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dryish-astringent mealy orangey spicy aftertaste with herbal fruity resiny notes. Slightly hot finish. Otherwise not much sign of the pepper. (0.25l draft at Schouskjelleren, Oslo.)

250ml, draught at Schouskjelleren. Foamy beige head. Nice lacing rings attached to the glassware. Cloudy amber coloured body. Inviting aroma of apricot added by spiced fruits. Restrained dark spicy touch to a taste profile dominated by sappy fruits. More succulent fruit bitterness to the finish. Fine bodied. Joyful drinking (Oslo, 10.12.2012).

On tap at Schouskjelleren. Hazy amber with a nice and large off-white head. Aroma of roasted pepper with some floral and lightly fruity notes. Some caramel, malt and hints of alcohol is also noticable. Sweet and peppery with a bit of fruit and a lightly bitter finish. Well balanced and easy to drink. Quite smooth mouthfeel. A nice one! Cloudy deep golden/amber colour with an off white head. Spicy, hoppy and yeasty aroma. Yeah you can really taste pepper in this one. Not to dominant. Also fruity and hoppy. A "heavy" beer, but still fresh and easy drinkable. Full body. Pefect to traditional norwegian christmas food. Although gunnfryd might disagree.

On tap at the brewery. A hazy, golden-orange beer topped by an off-white head. There’s a pleasant touch of black pepper in the aroma. It’s quite fruity, with a hint of yeast. Citrusy, piney hops. There’s a pleasant bitterness going on, along with lots of fruitiness, some pepper and a hint of yeast. Full body , pleasant carbonation. Black pepper and fruitiness in the finish. A lovely black pepper beer. 121026
