Bottle thanks to Joes @ QDT 13. Reddish brown color, small off-white head. Don’t get much aroma but that’s probably because of my hayfever (is that a word?). Taste malts, currant / berries, wood. A bit dry texture, medium to full body, medium carbonation.

Zythos Bierfestival 2012, Leuven, Belgium. Pours deep copper with lasting tan head. The aroma is sweet with caramel and some vanilla as well as a bit of molasses. The taste has a mix of spicy oak and molasses but more oak and spicy than anything else by midway. It gets a bit boozy with sweet smooth bourbon toward the finish.

Reddish brown colour, beige dissipating head. Aroma of red wine, pauillac, wood, malts, caramel and candy sugar. Sweetish flavour with loads of red wine. Light astringent touches. Finish is red wine with lingering sweet tones.
Interesting and nice, loads of wine gives this beer quite an oomph. But it just doesn’t strike me as a stout.
(From 75cL bottle @ ZBF ’12. Bottle number 498)
