Bottle. It pours an unclear, murky body, amber to brown in color and with a small, beige head on top. The aroma has vinegar, berry notes and barnyard. Quite pleasant actually, and that goes for the flavor too. Berries, vinegar and funky barnyard notes. Some maltyness in the far back. Medium to full body, dry. Overall, not an impressive beer, it lacks a bit on complexity, but it’s tasteful and pleasant anyway. 130111

Bottle thanks to Jeff! Pours clear dark ruby red with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and remains. Aroma has a very nice tart raspberry with a bit of underlying funk. Flavor has a really nice rich tart blueberry that adds a hint of acid and has underlying funk.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBSG II. Hazy reddish color, small white to off - white head. Smell and taste very sour. Too much for me. Too bad that the blueberries are either not there anymore or they were not ripe yet.

Courtesy of BelgBeerGeek. Thx! 50 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBSG II. Bottled on 21.11.2012. Pours reddish (unfortunately & oddly not blue), little head. Nose is fermenting berries (both general & blueberries), touch soap, overripe berries, some malts,… Taste is fermenting overripe blue berries, old strawberries, big sour malt base, touch sweetness, sugar, light acidity, sourness, murky nature, tartness, light caramel,… sweet & sour. Thicker malts body & lesser carb. Very solid sour, one of Haand’s best.

10/VIII/13 - 50cl bottle @ RBBSG II, my place - bottled: 21/XI/12 - brewed: 23/VIII/11 (2013-739) Thanks to BelgBeerGeek for sharing the bottle!

Clear red brown beer, little stable, off-white head, non adhesive. Aroma: sour, earthy, tobacco, sour cherries, bit of vinegar. Not too bad, can't tell the blueberries though. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sour, vinegar, bit fruity, blackberries and blueberries, citric. Aftertaste: very sour, citric, vinegar, sour burning the throat, bit dirty. Could've been more balanced, don't like the vinegar acidity too much. Other than that, a very drinkable foreign sour.

Bottle (brewed 23.08.11). Pours with a deep copper to tawny port hued body with a scant off-white head. Aromas are of funk, leather, fresh cut grass, currants, light malt, some deep phenols, light manure, blueberries, light acetobacter. Flavors are of slight tannic astringency and mild chlorophenol. Further flavors of damp leaves, tobacco, medium acidity and tannic fruit. Medium carbonation, lasting earthy flavors on the palate, lightly puckering.

Pours a soothing maroon. Appears hazy but it’s hard to tell with the color. The head is quite small and quickly fades to a ring of pink-ish beige bubbles. The aroma has some nice blueberry flavor, at least once the beer warms up. Cold, the beer has a fairly neutral fruity sour aroma. Anyway, there’s some excellent sweet blueberry flavor to the aroma. It’s got a nice oak note. Some noticeable acidity is present, sort of a mild grapey vinegar flavor. The taste has much less blueberry sweetness. There’s a big vinegar note. It smells like a relatively fresh lambic but tastes like an aged one, or really somewhere between a lambic and a Flanders-style sour. Lots of tannic character from the oak. Some nice funk underneath the dominant tartness. Strong to medium-strong pucker. Drying mouthfeel from the oak. Fairly light on the palate, otherwise. This is a very nice sour, probably the best that I’ve had from HaandBryggeriet.
