Bottle thanks to Jeff! Pours clear dark ruby red with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and remains. Aroma has a very nice tart raspberry with a bit of underlying funk. Flavor has a really nice rich tart blueberry that adds a hint of acid and has underlying funk.

Nose is fermenting berries (both general & blueberries), touch soap, overripe berries, some malts,… Taste is fermenting overripe blue berries, old strawberries, big sour malt base, touch sweetness, sugar, light acidity, sourness, murky nature, tartness, light caramel,… sweet & sour. Thicker malts body & lesser carb. Very solid sour, one of Haand’s best.

Pours a soothing maroon. Appears hazy but it’s hard to tell with the color. The head is quite small and quickly fades to a ring of pink-ish beige bubbles. The aroma has some nice blueberry flavor, at least once the beer warms up. Cold, the beer has a fairly neutral fruity sour aroma. Anyway, there’s some excellent sweet blueberry flavor to the aroma. It’s got a nice oak note. Some noticeable acidity is present, sort of a mild grapey vinegar flavor. The taste has much less blueberry sweetness. There’s a big vinegar note. It smells like a relatively fresh lambic but tastes like an aged one, or really somewhere between a lambic and a Flanders-style sour. Lots of tannic character from the oak. Some nice funk underneath the dominant tartness. Strong to medium-strong pucker. Drying mouthfeel from the oak. Fairly light on the palate, otherwise. This is a very nice sour, probably the best that I’ve had from HaandBryggeriet.
