18.08.2018 -- a 0.375l bottle from qoqa. pours a murky orange with a medium head. aroma of farmhouse, funk, lemon drops, peaches, yeast. flavour of bread, citrus zest, lemon curd, earth, smoked fish. unexpectedly bready and bitter, medium to full body. very nice. I'd say it is bière de garde.

750ml bottle from cogo, drunk 5/26/16.
Perfect appearance, sparkling copper-golden with a big, off-white head atop showing strong retention.
Vanilla, very light caramel, plentiful rustic grains and soft, herbal and peppery hops fill the nose.
Though it’s obviously bigger than a grissette/table beer, it comes off that way to me, with very dainty, clean esters and phenols and a charming malt character filled with baked bread, biscuit and a pinch of caramel. A touch sweeter than a table beer, but again, it helps offset the generally dry nature of all the characteristics here. Tight carbonation and a nearly creamy-like texture. Clean and certainly charming.
Even despite not caring for the Saison Extra (on account of the massive amount of off-putting specialty malt), I was immediatly drawn to the obvious high quality of their brewing. It’s good to see that really shine here. Thanks Christer!
