Cask at ACBF 2012. Very dark brown, almost black. Not much beige head. Aroma is fruity, plums, some dark malt, vanilla creaminess. Taste is very fruity, damson, plums, dark fruit, almost vinous, but quite mellow and nice. Oak-aged porter with added vanilla (!) and wild plums (I suppose sloe plums, which were popular in fruit beers throughout Europe - centuries ago, that is). Thin light beige head, colour near to black. Sweetly perfumed aroma in which both dark plums and vanilla extract are noticeable, raisins, caramel, fondant, cacao powder. Very fruity onset, thin mouthfeel, caramelly and chocolatey maltiness, mellow with a dry sourish accent, finishing a bit woody (though not exagerratedly so) with a mild roasted bitterness. Relatively complex and I guess you have to like this kind of beer, but I liked it quite a lot.

Clear black colour, no head. Aroma of plum, vanilla, malts, medlar and candy. Nice and interesting. Flavour light malty, light sweet, caramel, light dark fruits. Rather thin. Finish vanilla and ripened fruits (reminding of overripe plums and medlars). Interesting, but a bit thin bodied.

Cask @ ACBF 2012: very dark brown / black with a mocha head, smell is intensely sweet, lots of sweet plums, milk chocolate & vanilla, sweet dark malts, taste is candy, pudding sweet, caramel, lots of sweet plums, molasses, milk chocolate, plenty of vanilla, very sweet dark fruits, body is touch creamy, plumy, dear loard what a wondrous sweet concoction, the English Creme Brulee?

Cask @ ACBF 2012, Moen. Couleur brune/cuivrée claire, col fin beige. Arôme de vanille reste légère, le tout sur un profile malté très British please avec un côté poudre de chocolat. En bouche, malt léger assez pâteuse et une vanille rendant le tout assez doux, ne paraît pas ses 8.5% avec en retrait un point d’amertume houblonnée voire fleuri. J’aurai juste aimé un peu plus de vanille et un peu plus de vie au niveau du malt, le tout reste assez faiblard, mais l’idée de base est sympa.

Cask B.C."H." over black beer. Sweet, vanilla obvious, young oak, and complex finish. Fondant sweets, exactly the flavour of those pastel-coloured confection; flowery, and amandine/rosewater in the finish. Medium bodied, but very slick. Slight alcohol peeping in the swallowing. A tad too aromatized to be superb, but certainly original. Maybe the plums might come out a bit more to make it truly distinctive. Thanks to the brewers!
