Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

Medium, just yellowish head with some lace, fed by finely pearling pale copper-amber beer. Very (muscat)grapey hops (beautiful!), cane sugar, exotic fruit. Maybe a tad unidimensional, but impressive all the same. Bitter-hoppy-fruity. Difficult to add more. Exotic fruit, but bit metalllic, quinine-like bitterness. Not very well-bodied; spritzy and just a bit watery. Well - it’s an outspoken IPA. If you’re looking just, for that, it’s near-perfect.

65 cl bottle @ home, bottled 08/2012
Aroma is rather fruity with biscuits and caramel. Flavour is sweetish with hops, exotic fruits, caramel and hints of apricot. Refreshing, I like the hops here. Slightly too sweet though.

65cl bottle. bottled 08/2012. Amber, clear , thick, white, lasting head. Intense, fruity hoppy aroma, passionfruit and grape with some caramel malt in the background. Lovely. The fruitiness continues on in the flavor, bitter, fruity hops, grapefruit, pine, herbal stuff leading to a bitter, dry finish. Sure, this could be fresher, but surprisingly tasty still, 5 months after bottling. Medium bodied.
