Meadowlark IPA is a new juicy and floral hoppy ale we brewed to celebrate the flavor and spirit of American craft brewing. This 7% alcohol beer has a sunny orange-gold colour, 60 International Bittering Units, a smooth mouthfeel and layers of soft flowery hops. We wove fragrant Citra and Bravo hops from the Pacific Northwest with intensely fruity Galaxy hops from Australia. The malts are English pale & crystal, flaked barley with malty highlights from Munich malt and Roast Barley. The resulting patchwork is as “American” tasting as short ribs and slaw, and provides an excellent accompaniment to that kind of food too!

650ml bottle. Clear orangey golden colour with average, firm, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity and dry to bitter hoppy aroma has notes of grapefruit, bitter orange, tangerine. Taste is bitter hoppy with minimally sweet caramel malty undertones and a touch of citrus; extremely soft mouth feeling, flat carbonation. Very cautious due to flat carbonation.

A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, straw, and lemons, leading to a bitter finish.

75cl bottle, shared with 77ships, Martinus and Tderoeck. Thanks Eugène. Bottled on 08/2012.

Bottle. Pours with a hazy yellow body with a very large and retentive white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are of medium malt, tropical fruit, gooseberry, mango, citrus, papaya, low pine, lightly grassy. Noticeably sweet malt aroma, but yet not strongly of crystal malt. Flavors are bitter with an overall bitter balance. Bitterness lasts and is quite assertive. Tangerine, guava and tropical fruit hop characters. Low malt. Good, but the bitterness is slightly too assertive for my tastes in IPA. Malt character is amicably a background note. Low esters, light sweet, some marmalade. Carbonic, very lively bubbles, dry. Carbonation is a bit distracting. Overall a pretty solid IPA.

Bomber from Nikki’s, Providence. Pours a hazy orange color with a large creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of floral, herbal and faintly earthy hops, bready malts, faint butter and even mild hints of corn and sugar. The taste is bready malts, that same faint butter note, citrus and herbal hops. Medium bodied, well balanced and refreshing. I’m liking this!

Bomber. Clear golden body with a frothy white head, slowly diminishing. Enticing aroma of fresh hops, citrus, toasted grain, resin, tropical fruits. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Fantastic balance. A sweet IPA — orange juice, sweet grapefruit, citrus — that works well with resin bitterness. The beer is clean, fresh. Just when you start to think it’s too sweet, the bitterness kicks in. Could drink lots of this beer.
