Cask. Pale ambery golden colour with a small head. Aroma is mild fruity and floral notes along with some slight maltyness. Flavour is quite similar. Easy to drink, and no flaws.

On tap at Stansted airport, London Dark golden color with almost no head. Nice carbonation. Aroma, fruity, hints of caramel. Taste, starts with fruity sweetness, continues with bittersweet notes. Finish is ligt bitter. Drinkable beer.

Cask at the Magazine, New Brighton. Oh dear, wasn’t this supposed to be good once upon a time ? Nasty aroma of veg on the turn and something strange and off putting that put me in mind of unisex hairdressers frequented by smelly old grannies. Drab insipid flavour not worth dwelling on. Really no redeeming qualities here at all. Wish I’d had a pineapple juice. Bloody awful beer.

From the jug @ Star Inn, Bath. Rich golden-amber colour. Toasty, lightly caramelly aroma. Toasty character is very Bass-like (the bottle we foreigners are most familiar with) but there is more lively fruitiness to it as well. This has great appeal. Will probably re-visit for more gravity Bass.

Cask-conditioned at the Inn on the Green, 3/6/08. Amber coloured with next to no head. Light earthy hop, caramel aroma with a hint of sulphur. Flavour had a touch of sweetness with some fruity malt and a very short bitter finish. I am told by the older generation that this was a great beer - it isn’t now. Just about drinkable.

Peach, apple and malt aroma. Golden amber color. Light sweet peach malt flavor with just a kiss of hops. Decent but not spetacular.

Cask at Cask and Barrel, Edinburgh. Amber colour. Sweaty aroma of boiled vegetables. Sweet and fruity, medium bodied. With it’s mushy mouthfeel, the stale boiled vegetables and it’s lacklustre overall character it does nothing to convince of seeking it out again.
