(Bottle dated April 2014 @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 12 2014) Pours hazy straw with a dense frothy white head and lots of lace. Aroma has nice passion fruit, citrus zest, a little coriander, sweet overripe peach, and a serious helping of funky wet vegetation. On the palate however, not that punchy, the passion fruit is really restrained. Some coriander and white pepper. Wheat malt. Citrus rind. A bit of oak. Dusty. On the finish, dry with a light bitterness that carries orange rind notes. Pretty light feeling in the mouth, verging on watery, with effervescent carb. I thought this smelled like a fantastically interesting farmhouse IPA but it just didn’t seem to pop on the palate and the additions didn’t add that much to it either. I am guessing that, flavour wise, we maybe drank it in a dead zone where dry hopping had faded but the brett funk hadn’t built. It was just a bit bland in taste. I’d happily have it again when fresher (or maybe older!).

Bottle on the return train from the IOW Jolly, big thanks to Mads for probably the best beer of the day, 24/08/14. Hazed pale golden with a decent white covering. Nose is tangy citric peel, peach, funk, brett slippers and jacket, tangerine, mandarin. Taste carries a trace of spice, tangy apricot, corriander, more bretty funkyness, lemon rind, straw. Medium bodied, soft to fine carbonation, bitter citric drenched hops and funk in the close. Super solid fayre!

Bottle a few times now. Most recently on the train during the IoW Jolly Day thanks to Mads. It pours cloudy golden with a medium white head. The nose is earthy, wood, funk, barnyard, some sherbet, light sweetness, brett and citrus peel. The taste is bitter, funky, earthy brett, wood, citrus peel, sherbet, pineapple, minerals, lemon, brioche and mine must with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Balanced and rather delicious. Delectable!

Bottle pour. Cream yellow color. heavy citrus aroma with lemon zest and grapefruit. Delicious hoppy citrus flavors. I had this beer for the first time years ago, and love it even more today.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance has a golden hazy yellow body leaving a super big head for a Belgian IPA (about three fingers), some really nice looking foamy lacing appears.
The smell has some Galaxy hops up front and the Brett comes out appropriately with the grapefruit and peppercorn.
The taste has a majority of the Brett with hints of lemon, the grapefruit coming back.
The palate, well, I can tell it was aged in wine tanks, because there is a great quality of wine-likeness to it. Harshness all around, perhaps one of the most harsh beers I’ve ever had, but I know, its part of the style, so I’ll just keep going since there are people out there that love this stuff. Drinkable, perhaps to some, but to me, uh . . . not really.
Overall, this is good for its style but since I’m still not much of a fan of the lighter Belgian styles, just ok to me. I’ll keep looking for lighter Belgians to try and maybe I’ll find my niche in one of these things some day.

hazy bright yellow colour, extremely huge white head; aroma of tropical fruits (mostly pineapple), citrus, yeast, earthy notes and some pine resin; taste of intensive bitterness and fruityness (pineapple and citrusses) with pine resin, yeast and spices; long lasting bittery-spicy aftertaste; brilliant IPA - not the best one I’ve tasted, but definitely the most unique and complex one
