Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Dark brown with massive beige/gold head. Aroma is roasty malt and hops, initially just a little hint of chocolate and some creamy vanilla. Taste is warm and roasty, lots of chocolate, bit of creaminess, some hoppy bitterness, particularly at the end. Dark chocolate and a bit of a burnt note. Very smooth and quite thick and creamy. Lovely. --- Beer merged from original tick of Mild Chocolat Stout on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 9. Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - black pour with beige head. Sweet malty with prominent chocolate, some caramel, only slightly roasty charred malty accents, mild hoppy backing, sweet malty close.

18/03/2016 - 25cl from draft @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. Dark brown with nice creamy light tanned head. Nose is fully chocolate, taste also, no roast, mocha or other influences. Very easy drinking, maybe too easy. Nice beer to start with stouts for someone who never had one, but not really for the exercised stout drinker.

Brasserie de la Senne’s Belgian Chocolate Stout 2016 vintage 6.2% I wouldn’t be surprised if this was brewed at the request of the Japanese importer as this winter seasonal fits squarely into the Japanese Chocolate Valentine beer style. Ah seems these are designed by Rio Brewing Co. (Japanese contract Brewers) and made in Belgium. Pouring an inky black with a light beige head and a fudge like chocolate syrup aroma. Medium bodied the flavor is dark chocolate, s bit artificial with some floral notes and brownie chocolate cake like maltiness. Not bad.

Keg at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 20/11/15. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is light roast, chocolate, brown sugar, light spice. Taste comprises chocolate malt, toffee, light charr, trace of dark fruit rinds, raisens, biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough stout.

On tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Dark brown with a medium head. Sweetish with notes of milk, chocolate and malt. The body was on the light side.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub De La Senne Tap Takeover. Very dark brown to black color, average sized tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is malts, a lot of chocolate and cocoa, lightly earthy. Taste malts, dark malts, chocolate strongly again, lightly earthy, a hint of roast, moderately bitter. Decent body and carbonation.

Tap at Delirium Reserve as Rio Brewing Belgian Chocolate Stout 4.5%. Pretty, shiny black with a low, tight, fine head. Somewhat spicy, chocolate nose. Dry flavor, lightly roasted, chocolate, clear Belgian yeast spiciness. Very light. Ok, but not all that interesting.
