Medium light beige head does not last. Slightly hazy amber body with light carbonation. Tropical fruit and citrus aroma with malty alcoholic notes. Dry-sweet resiny malty alcoholic taste. Full-bodied chalky mouthfeel. Light roastiness. Quite a lot of residual malt sweetness. Dry ripe tropical fruit and alcohol aftertaste with notes of roasted almonds. Maybe a bit much alcohol in the aftertaste, but this is still a very good beer. (0.5l bottle at Bar & Cigar. Rated twice.)

Hazy amber with a short lived off-white head. Aroma is lemon and oranges, fresh cut grass, and some sort of candy. Flavour is sweet malty, with some alcohol. There is some hop flavour but a little more bitterness would be nice.
Drinking an 07 bottle in 2010, it has developed a nice touch of Fullers-like marmalade along with the elegant malt.

500ml bottle. Cloudy/muddy reddish orange body with a small, fast disappearing off-white head. Aroma is malty with plenty of hops, citrus fruity and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is sweet malty balanced with a lot of bitterness. A delicious variation from tons of American hop flavored double IPA’s. Balanced body and long bitter finish.

Rerate, cask at HaandBryggeriet’s stand at Parkteatret’s "Beer Day", + bottle at Bar & Cigar, Oslo: Remarkably good - I’m upping it a few points! Original rating: 500 ml bottle, as HaandBryggeriet Dobbel Dose IPA, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned, unfiltered and unpasteurised. Batch #108, brewed Nov. 07, BB Nov. 09. ABV is 8.5%. Very cloudy orange-brown colour, big off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma, notes of flowers and orange marmalade, a hint of oak too. The flavour is sweet (too sweet) and somewhat alcoholic, with a substantial dominance of hops (as expected from a Double IPA), but not quite as extreme as I feared. Bitter finish. When pouring the last sediment in the glass the beer becomes extremely muddy, but the flavour also becomes more complex and interesting.
