Draught at ACBF 2012. Dark brown, not much head. Aroma very vinous, lots of sourness and not much else. Maybe a hint of coffee and roasty malt. Taste is initially full on sour, but then some roasty malt comes through. Bit of chocolate in there too. Towards the end of the glass becomes a lot more malty. Pretty nice, quite weird.

Tap @ ACBF 2012. Deep dark brown color. Horse blanker, hops, licorice, leather in the aroma. Caramel, licorice and onions in the sweet and moderately sour flavor. Anis and salt. Very delicious beer, but where are the hops gone?

Aus der Flasche im 2014-07 getrunken. Dieses schwarze Ale ist leicht malzig und deutlich bitter. Leider auch etwas eindimensional, doch mir etwas zu bitter und auch etwas langweilig.

Strange wood-aged black IPA with wild yeast refermentation, made for De Wildeman in Amsterdam. Quickly dissipating, light beige head, colour very dark, almost black. Lightly toasted aroma, coffee, red wine, jute, hay, sherry, balsamic vinegar and peppery hops. Dry sourish onset, wine vinegar and red berries, smooth with dark malts and roasted bitterness in the end. A combination of styles which are hard to combine, but well-made and creative.

Even a little better than the normal version. The brett gives the beer an extra dimension of fresh sourness.

Draft. A brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, caramel, and malt. The flavor is very acidic with notes of brettanomyces, lacto, caramel, and alcohol.

Black colour, small off-white head. Fruity aroma, quite floral. Sour flavour, lactic acid, yoghurt. Fruity finish with defined yoghurt tones. The bitterness seems to have disappeared completely. Quite lovely.

Draught @ In de Wildeman, Amsterdam. Pitch black opaque color, small off-white lacing. Smell sour but softly, and slightly hops. Taste is very sour, (Dutch: balsamico-azijn) hops are completely gone. Medium carbonation, medium body. Ok.

Saurer Beginn, im Mittelteil wird das Ganze agressiver, etwas kratzig, man merkt nicht, dass dies ein IPA gewesen sein soll. Unbalanciert. /8/7/9//9

Strange but very good! Bitterness of IPA combined with the sour taste of lambic. Also some sweetness in the aftertaste.
