Can you imagine something more repulsive than the smell of cats piss? Not really - go on, open up and inhale the sharp nose of cats piss extracted from the heavenly dry hopped Nelson Sauvin. The good news is you’ll love the freshness and the light body. It’s a true quality guzzler IPA.

Bottle. It pours a clear, dark golden body and a big, white head leaving lacings. Well, I’ve had several beers smelling more like cats piss than this one, but there’s some notes of it. It’s a good dash of peaches, some pale malts and a touch of sourness. The flavor is much the same, more piney and nicely bitter, with the same pale malts as a base. Medium body, smooth and pleasant. The finish too has some cats piss, and pine cones, bitterness and malty sweetness. A nice one, sort of quenching even though it’s quite sweet. Needs more bitterness to combat the sweetness. A nice beer anyway. 110406

Bottle from the Struise beer shop. Cloudy amber beer, creamy off white head. Light Nelson Sauvin nose. Creamy malt base. Light minerally hops with a little citrus. Not so much Nelson. Some hop bitterness in the semi dry finish. Not bad but could do with being fresher, crisper and more Nelson!

Bottle from Ken from Struise. Cloudy dark gold brown. Lasting off white. Hoppy as hell with some biscuit. Good bitterness on end. Decent enough but not outstanding.

Towering off-white head over coppery-amber beer, slight haze. Fruity hops’ nose, exotic fruit as passion fruit, but also billberry. I smell alcohol as from a spirit, too, and relatively little if any valerian - cats’ piss. Melon, watermelon, bitterish - if mild - hopoil, touch of lytchee. Otherwise said, Nelson Sauvin - a superb hop. And indeed, in the finish, a meaty, muscus-like flavour. Very slick, as clarified butter, and medium bodied. Very good beer, its main surprise being delicat and pungent at the same time. Congrats!
