Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks avrashi. As "Hitachino Nest Commemorative Ale". Cloudy orange. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, a bit of coriander, honey notes and a bit of fruitiness. Sweetish and spicy flavor with malt, vanilla, a bit of honey, caramel and spices. Medium-bodied.

8% 2014 edition. A festive ale brewed with Coriander, cinnamon, orange peel, vanilla beans, nutmeg & cardamom. A lovely red pour with a fast disappearing beige head. A really spicy body, like holiday baked goods. The taste is graham & biscuit with tons of spices. Pretty good. As it warmed up the spicing kicks into gear but remains subtle & balanced. Bitter finish but tasty.

Bottle - Vintage 2008 - Lots of spice and orange. Cloudy orange with a very rich white head. Orange syrup and spices. More like a barleywine, but not great.

Bottle at the Ale House, Chelmsford. Bottled was the Commemmorative Ale 2013. Hazy amber colour beer with a small off-white head. Nice fruity, floral aroma, with some spice notes to finish. Refreshing feel, good starter to the evening. Enjoyed this.

Gewürziger Antrunk mit mild malzigen Noten. Die Würzigkeit steigt noch etwas, harmonisch, eher wenig süffig. Trocken nach Apfel, der Alkoholgehalt ist gut versteckt. 8/10/10/9/9/9
