A real let down after the aroma and color. If taste begins with the eyes, then my mouth was watering after pouring this into the tulip glass. Aroma of vanilla pods, tangerine, brown sugar, color is deep amber to light brown. Taste was sugar cane and booze. Too bad.

Bottled (as Commemmorative Ale 2011)@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Slightly hazy amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, wooden and a bit nectary/honeylike as well. Flavour is fruity, wooden and nectary with some herbal notes. Mild spicyness in the finish.

Bottle at Pat’s birthday tasting at chriso’s. Pours hazy gold with a fine, white head. Sweet malt nose with some ripe fruit notes. Slight aged malt flavor, some spice, golden raisins, toasted sugar. Medium to full in body with fine carbonation. Warming finish, sticky sugar, sweet fruits, spices, bready malts. An interesting beer for sure. (December 2011, Score: 3.8)
Bottle - ’2013 edition’. Chriso’s pre-GBBF tasting 2013. Pours clear gold with a light, white cream head. The nose holds meaty ripe fruits and some spices as well. Medium to heavy sweetness with sturdy malt sugars, bread, spices, gingerbread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with more sugary bread. OK. (August 2013, Score: 3.5)

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly deminishing head. Amber cloudy colour. Moderate malty and hoppy very spicey aroma. Coriander and nutmeg present most clearly. Moderate bitter very spicey flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily opalate. Powerfull and nice, but very spicey indeed.

Bottle. As Commemorative Ale 2011, 8% ABV. Amber with a fading light beige head. Aroma of old ginger, vanilla, oranges, cinnamon, an unusual wheaty/ leafy doughiness. Quite sweet with lots of spices (menthol?) and balancing bitterness. Hides the alcohol very well. Tastes rather less intriguing than it smells.

Bottle at CP&K, thanks to Bunce. It pours hazy deep orange, with a thin foamy off-white head. The nose is rice, light floral, bread, sake and salty umeboshi plum. The taste is sweet orange, pith, mango, apricot, spice, herbal, salty umeboshi, rice, solid underlying bitterness and alcohol warmth. Medium body and fine carbonation. Really tasty and interesting stuff.
